If this wasn't a rush job of a release, I don't know what is. Wolverine is cornered by SHIELD, he sicks Omega Red on SHIELD, he tries to save Jubilee who's impaled, SHIELD agrees to save little ol' Jubilee and then blasts Wolvie in the head a thousand times and Wolvie's son shows up sporting his Nasty Boy look and slashes Logan. The end.
There is no story involved, and oh yeah Dum Dum is dead. We don't see this 'son' fully. All he says is that Wolvie is weak, while Wolvie cries. Nothing worth while happens, no Wolverine vs Omega Red, nothing here for Jubilee fans. Overall this issue is another waste of comic, nothing happens, except for the weird part of Dugan shooting Logan execution style, much unwarranted, for reasons unknown cause he's dead. Oh well, till this Wolverine is revealed to a Skrull see ya next month. Buyers Beware, totally avoid

Savior Review (Issues 6-10):
Savior is a five part series that has Wolverine in search of the C-Synthesizer to help defeat his son who has the same handlers that Wolverine once had. Some flashbacks occur that show the effects of C-Synthesizer on his healing factor, meanwhile he searches for the man whom he gave the synthesizer to, Chris Nord. OR ends up coming for the device as well and captures helpless Jubilee and takes off, Wolverine goes to Berlin and runs into Black Widow and parts of their history are revealed, with the ending of the story showcasing Wolverine against his 'son'.
The story picks up the pace a bit more than the last arc. Wolverine doesn't end up in a plain patch of grass in Vietnam for four issues. The flashbacks are a bit more satisfying although nothing is really that much interesting and it just became nothing more than muddled re-living of old 90's era stories. The art only gets slightly better in about two pages of issue #10, the rest of the art is something totally forgettable and just as terrible as the first five issues. Even JoeyQs always reliable kick ass covers are more and more weak. It seems like he's really too busy to produce covers, issues 8,9, and especially 10 have no imagination and are really dull, and issue 11 continues the trend. The sad thing though, is these lackluster covers are miles above the interiors. This still has variant covers for each issue that continue to sucker fans that deem these 'variants' important/collectors items.
The story still moves at a snails pace, this series could have wrapped up in three issues max, and the biggest dissappointment of them all is the complete non interaction between Jubilee and Wolverine, no sarcastic quips by jubilee in the face of danger, no cocky hero attitude by Wolverine, deeming Jubilee 'dead anyways' without hesitation, that isn't the Wolverine I know, who also just looks at a dying Jubilee complaining how 'weak' he is.
Nothing more was revealed about Wolverine, showing more proof that this was an unecessary series, I was very interested in this series, Wolverine being the best character in comics, but nothing added in this series warrants a second solo Wolverine. Till next five parter

wheres my pistol?? Hell gimme a shotgun for crap. Great review JMH I agree 100%. It takes a lot for me to drop a mutant book. But Ways actions brought me to that point @ issue #7. Doesn't matter though because I can read the uissues so fast in store theres no need to buy this crap anymore. I should of learned after issue #1. Hell MORE happens in his guest appearance in blade today than the whole savior arc. Was Black Widow even Necessary??? I got like 5 words from Jubilee the whole time. Now shes impaled an prob paralyzed.

Hey Lizard, nice of you to pop up. Lets see, was Jubilee necessary, Black Widow? Or even Omega Red, you'd think he'd have a bigger background with Wolverine, like pre-Omega Red days and such, but all you get is that Sabretooth tried to 'recruit' him.
So what does next arc entail? It is another 5 parter, but of what now?

The Savior arc was sold based on two "draw cards" -
1) Wolverine vs. Omega Red; and
2) The reunion of Wolverine and Jubilee.
After five issues the total combat between Wolverine and Omega Red consisted of Logan being thrown through a bricked-up window onto a rooftop below - back in issue #8? No climactic battle where they settle things once and for all. No battle over Jubilee. Just a game of catch with a fake carbonadium synthesizer in the last issue.
After five issues the total interaction between Wolverine and Jubilee consisted of a hasty "What're you doing here?" followed immediately by Jubilee's kidnapping, and a last plea for help as she lie dying with a chunk of wood through her belly. And in the end, we don't even know if she lives or dies.
On both counts this story dissapoints me on the same level as Generation M.
And based on his drawings of Jubilee and Logan's son I can draw one conclusion about Dillon - he makes a better illustrator than he does a hair stylist.
