 Wolverine/Wolverine Origins Crossover!
« Thread Started on Sept 21, 2006, 7:41pm »

I here from Daniel Way that Wolverine regular series will at some point crossover with Wolverine Origins. That means that 1 story will take place in both books at the same time. I think its a great idea and crossovers are always money makers for Marvel, so Im sure they are happy.

In general i dont like crossovers, since most of the time they crossover into a book I dont collect.

After I read the:
Origins & Endings (arc)
This is what happened at the end of issue #40.

It said "Continued in: Wolverine Origins #1.

This might be the crossover, or it might be the story will continue.

I think it's all part of Marvel's current strategy with Wolverine - moving him past his past. I think beginning with the decision to have Jenkins write Wolverine: Origin Marvel realized that they were sitting on a gold mine that they'd been holding in reserve for a quarter-century. Since he was introduced as an X-Man Wolverine was haunted by his damaged memories of a long, mysterious past. M-Day gave Marvel the excuse they needed to finally stop teasing us and reveal all the secrets. What Way has done with Origins is give Wolverine a single target - one enemy he can blame for all the sufferring of his backstory - against whom he can fight a definitive battle. This makes sense in terms of "moving the character forward" to a point somewhere down the road where Wolverine has finally "dealt with" his issues to the extent that it's still possible.

But then what? Granted they can go on printing Wolverine: Origins (or some other title exploring the details of a century's worth of adventuring) for years after Way's 60-issue mega-arc concludes. But how will present day Wolverine change once he's gotten his revenge and made peace with his past demons?

Our Wolvie could be something so different after that that I couldn't be sure if I know the character anymore..

I don't want to see how Wolverine gets old and don't have enough strenght to fight back or something... Yes ofcourse there will be another enemies etc. but when the mystery have been solved out, is there anything where continue the story so it dosn't change the character??

I believe that when Wolverine/Logan does solve all the answers to his past, that his mysterious personality would or could fade. But the events that happened in his life would be better understood and we then would know what he went through to become what he is today, and what he can then do about to change his future or take another course off action.

After the Wolverine Origins series is done with after 60 issues. I hope his personality is not full destroyed. But have it somewhat changed.

For one thing, Wolverine will be freer than he's been in a long time. He's already free from the uncertainty of decades of mind-wipes and memeory implants. When this mega-arc ends, Wolverine will be free of the burden of his past, having hopefully reached a point of closure after seeing justice finally done. He'll still have all his experiences, all his regrets, but they'll be memories. Best of all, he'll finally feel free to love a woman without the fear that she'll inevitably die a violent death.

I agree with those thoughts, but "Wolverine: The Dating Years" doesn't sound like a series I'll collect.

Ok, I read this and I couldn't stop laughing. Too many funny thigns come to mind. But no, if they're going to have someone for him, she'll be someone tough enough to handle his kind of lifestyle, like someone he isn't going to have to worry about getting knocked off by an enemy. Because really, there's always going to be someone after Logan...right?

It's funny, I was just wondering who would win if it were Logan vs. Edward Cullen. But the next thing I knew all I could picture were vampires pieces scattered everywhere. lol

This is what I know!

Wolverine: Origins #28 (Original Sin: Prolouge), then
X-Men: Original Sin #1 (One-shot), then
X-Men: Legacy #217 (part 2), then
Wolverine: Origins #29 (part 3), then
X-Men: Legacy #218 (part 4), then
Wolverine: Origins #30 (conclusion)

that is what I believe to be the cross-over, instead of my previous post.
