 Wolverine Origins #7 Review

Grading Guide:

Better than Life Itself: It must be in your collection for eternity
Definite Read!: A great read from front to finish
Not bad, but not great: A decent read worth the asking price
Well, it’s not the worst: Only for diehards…even then
Where’s my Pistol?: Titles like this make you question your hobby!

Review:

Ah...actual story is presented! Wolverine is faced to faced with Omega Red, with Maverick and his knowledge of the whereabouts of the C-Synthesizer the main goal. A flashback occurs with some actual meat on the purpose and organization of Team X, that finally adds some substance to the premise of explaining some origins for our favorite canucklehead. While not groundbreaking, it's something...and after about 11 months of dissapointment so far, something is awesome! So we learn that the Team X team that grouped for the Berlin mission were brought together by fate essentially. Obviously Creed and Logan have prior work together, but its still unclear about the others. The story gets back to real time with Omega Red running off with Jubilee (oh yeah, she's in the book!) and assuming with Maverick as well. So finally the book has picked up some steam, albeit small, but it's starting up. Here's hoping that the pace can keep up and the stories can remain engaging.

Rating: Not bad, but not great

Best issue so far in this series! Still not loving Dillon's artwork but Queseda's covers are beautiful. I have high hopes for this arc - partly for the clarification on the events of Logan's last mission with Team X; partly for the opportunity for Wolverine and Jubilee to catch-up (they haven't seen each other since M-Day); but mostly for all the important figures from that period of Logan's past showing up in this arc! We've already seen Maverick and Omega Red are involved, but solicitations and pre-release covers indicate Black Widow and Sabretooth will get involved before it's over!

Okay, ya' want the truth? There never was any "Silver Fox." It was Mystique. Both times. Happy now?
