I refuse to accept HER beating him BS it better be some DAMN good writing. Chances are he would NOT kill her, I just don't see him doing that. There would be some reason and it better not be he get's his ass kicked by some stupid sex kitten. LOL

In a physical fight she can't beat him. The math is against it. Even if she was so fast and skillful that got twelve good sword strikes to one good claw slash, five minutes later she'd still be the only one bleeding. She'd die before she could overcome his healing factor. But what that cover doesn't show is that Psylocke's telekenesis allows her to avoid that fight and completely changes the math. It lets her fight him with no risk that he can fight back because he can't get close enough. All she has to do is telekenetically pitch Logan farther than he can run in the time it takes for her to finish off Matsu'o.
I can see two scenarios where Wolverine might try to prevent Psylocke from killing Matsu'o - either he wants to kill Matsu'o himself (revenge for Mariko's death), or he's pulling another "Rachel vs. Selene" intervention* (trying to keep Psylocke from becoming a vengeful killer). Problem with both of these is that they seem kind'a obvious, so I'm hoping for something I won't expect (no mind-controlled Logan or Wolverine androids either).
* Thinking back on that moment, if Wolverine had let Rachel kill Selene it would have prevented Necrosha - but what would have become of Rachel?.

he's right, killing and being a killer changes a person beyond repair. Logan know that better than anyone else. I'd go for teh prevention of her becoming a killer than him wanting to kill the guy himself. I don't think Logan is the type to stop her from killing that as s because he wants to do it himself. If That was the case he has had PLENTY of time to do that. It must have something to do with her. And YEP I agree, NO mind controled Logan... THAT is getting OLD and It is a sloppy writer taking the easy way out, besides, I'm sick of it. How many times can a person's mind be F with before they loose who they really are anyway? Fans like Logan as Logan not a mindless killer.

Issue #3 came out yesterday. Turns out neither of my previous assumptions is quite right - Wolverine isn't there to kill Matsuo, and he isn't there to stop Psylocke for her own sake.
It's worse. In fact I might have had it completely backward.
For Psylocke, Matsu'o was part of a past she'd let go, until he destroyed her old body while she was trying to re-bury it. He started up the conflict between them again and she realized that he wouldn't quit messing with her until he was dead. So she set out to kill him in order to free herself from their past together.
And that's what Matsu'o wants. He's goading her into trying to kill him and he won't stop. For Matsu'o death is the only mercy, the only escape from his private hell of pain and loss and anticipation of more to come. But "the devil"demands his due, and he won't stop either.
For Wolverine, letting go of his grudge against Matsu'o still feels like a betrayal of Mariko. He still can't put the pain and loss of Mariko's murder behind him so he won't let Matsu'o's sufferring end either.
At first I thought Logan might be trying to stop Psylocke from killing Mastsu'o to prevent her from becoming a vengeful killer. Now I suspect Psylocke might have to kill Matsu'o to keep Wolverine from becoming something even worse.

I love the thrid issue, i havnt read much of it at all, just peeked the issues in the store, but when i saw that matsu'o was still the way Wolvie left him, i was happy, but at the same time you fell bad for the guy, who cant even killhimself because wolvie took his hand and arms, but he did kill mariko. He needs to die or be invented, i guess we will see what happens in the next issue.
oh and where was my sweet cheeks pic on the cover, lol

that I could go for and sounds just about right for both wolverine and psylock as people and how they act and care about each other as friends. It makes sense to me that if she could, she would do her best to save Logan from himself. In fact, I like that and it makes for amuch better read.

I don't feel sorry for him at all Mark he was wrong and correct me if I am wrong, he killed the woman Logan loved just to hurt Logan. He's a peice of crap and got what he earned. Also btw.. Logan too is one who can't kill himself even if he wanted too, does tht mean we feel sorry for him? maybe. maybe in Logan's case yes. but not in this as s's case not t all. he is evil and that's what he get's in my view. Logan on the other hand was driven into most of his kills they were unwnted on his part if he had a real choice about it. This guy had a choice and choose to do the wrong thing.

i agree, i said he should die too, or marvel can make him change his ways, or just fix him up and send him on his evil path again. anyhow he is in comic limbo and thats no fun. As for feeling sorry for they guy i guess i put myself in his shoes and its not a good place to be, but you are right he choose his path, i guess he will have to live with it.

Mariko's death has always struck me as a "sword of damocles" plotline just waiting to resolve. Between Logan's annual revenge, the conflict between Wolverine and Psylocke over whether Matsu'o lives or dies, and the heartbreaking secret of Mariko's murder that Matsu'o knows and Logan still doesn't - it's always been clear that the story isn't finished.
The conflict between Psylocke and Wolverine over Matsu'o and Logan's vendetta has been waiting to happen for years. It was seemingly resolved when Psylocke "forgave" Matsu'o for stealing her body. Given that Betsy's original body died of the Legacy virus, it worked out for the best. Matsu'o could'a left it at that.
I feel no pity for Matsu'o and his transparent (look Ma' no hands) excuses. He ordered the murder of Djinn's pregnant wife so the Djinn would in turn kill him. If all he wished was his own death he could have ordered his ninjas to do it. But no, his ego demands more, and to appease his ego he killed Djinn's wife and burned Psylocke's old body. Wolverine's revenge against Matsu'o is probably the most sadistic thing we've ever seen him do - drawing out his enemy's sufferring over a period of years, trying to hurt Matsu'o as much as he possibly can, reducing his life to nothing but the anticipation of more inevitable loss and pain. He acts like he hates Matsuo even more than he hated Creed or Cyber or even Romulus. My concern has always been: What is this hate doing to Wolverine?

I don't believe it is hate at all, but Justist. Wolverine is not a man of hate per say, but he is animal like weither he likes to believe it or not, he goes on gut instinc a lot. He isn't a Christian, so he goes for an eye for an eye kind of thing. He suffers at the hands of these people and Matsuo is the one HE CAN get to the most, Creed, he never really understood what his deal was till the end, he had no choice in that. Romulus, tho he understands fully, there isn't much he can do at this time in the game to even the score. I don't feel these actions he takes against Mstsut'o are going to mentally warp him any more than all the abuse he has been threw over the years has. He's made it pretty clear despite Romulus's many efforts that he isn't going to do anything unless that's something he himself desided to do. Like for exsample, He ISN'T going to take Romulus's place despite all the evil crap Romulus does and did to him. That's pretty much how Logan thinks. This thing with Mats'o in Logan's eyes is something that guy has erned himself, and as for Psylock tring to stop him for what ever reson, she needs to butt out of that and do what she has to do for her own reasons. What Logan is doing btw is a very Asian way of thinking, and it fits who he is as well as who he wants to be according to his life style and choices he has made over the years. He pretty much works on the karma and honor way of thinking.

4 of 4 ended fairly good. There's now a little tension between Psylocke and Wolverine, but, in the end, I think this will draw them closer towards a relationship. I know, I sound like a one trick pony, but I just feel so strongly about them being a couple.
Matsu'o is finally dead. May he NOT rest in peace. Psylocke really shouldn't have altered his perception before he died. Wolverine is going to have to live and suffer with what Matsu'o did, maybe forever, and Tsurayaba should partake in the suffering as long as possible.

I really liked the artwork in this mini-series. Somehow it reminds me of Barry Windsor-Smith's original Weapon X.
I like the way this story ties up a lot of loose ends. It was really as much about Wolverine as it was about Psylocke. She had already let go of her hatred for Matsu'o (renewing it only by the contrivance of this story to seet her in conflict with Wolverine) but Logan's unique ventdetta was as strong as ever. It sets Logan up to move forward by cutting a powerful anchor to his past. He's free of the burden of his own grudge, which will help him to heal emotionally. In that sence this plays into a larger story that runs through Wolverine:Netsuke and right into current events in Wolverine: Weapon X.
The fight seemed realistic enough insofar as it's outcome. Psylocke wasn't trying to kill Wolverine so she didn't do anything massively telekenetic. And she coluldn't out-fight him on the ground (even with that magic fire guy lending a hand). So she basically pulled a "Jubilee" and he spared her life and let her kill Matsu'o.
As for his promise that they'll have words about this later, it'd be nice if they followed-up on that sometime. And two of those words better be "thank you."
My only disappointment is that they never played the Silver Fox card.

We wish to thank you just as before for the beautiful ideas you gave Jeremy when preparing her post-graduate research and also, most importantly, for providing every one of the ideas in one blog post. Provided that we had known of your web page a year ago, we'd have been saved the useless measures we were having to take. Thanks to you. toys for adults
