I know he has big fans on this board so thought I should post here. He was only 37. Fitting that his last works were some of his best, absolutely astounding that he could do such high calibre work despite being so close to death. and this classic: RIP.

I remember When I first meet Turner at the Aspen booth in WWLA and he was just resting. They had gotten him a nice padded office chair, which at the time i didnt realize he had cancer and just thought the guy wanted a kings chair, compaired to the stolls that the other artist were using. He was very kind and willing to talk about anything, ofcourse i made the topic Wolverine, and thats when he told me about Wolverine Origins #1 he was doing the cover for, I was excited.
My second encounter, was at San Diego Comic-con and this was several months later and I waited in line t get Wolverine Origins signed by him, he was really late on being there. we waited, in total, 2 1/2 hours to get the signature. When he showed up he came in on crutches and sat down and apoligized to all of us. You could tell he was having a rough morning, but again very happy and nice to us.
From my eperiances he was a very kind person, who had a great talent, I will miss his work, especially since he was just hitting his prime with wolverine.
your welcome to post stories or favorite pics of turners here, wolverine or not.
