Wow that sounds interesting, thankfully we're getting a REAL bookstore on Thursday so I'll keep my eye out for the X-Men Origins books

As suspected, coming in Febuary 2009:
X-MEN ORIGINS: SABRETOOTH Written by KIERON GILLEN Pencils & Cover by DAN PANOSIAN
Every year, he beats Wolverine to an inch of his life. You won’t find a sicker, more dangerous person in the Marvel Universe. But why? Why is he so vicious? Why is he so brutal? Why does he leave a wake of violence and death everywhere he goes? Look into Sabretooth’s eyes and tremble…

I hope they don't fully show the origin of Sabretooth. A flash-back to childhood might be okay, like Hama did with DEATH HUNT. But I don't want "THIS is the reason Sabretooth hates Logan".

I feel like I already know enough about Creed's childhood, and I don't think we need any more explanation of the Logan/Creed rivalry than we already have. What I'm hoping for from this one shot (which is really not much space to address this matter) is a look at the events that shaped the life a of young Victor Creed after he left home but before he first meets Logan. We know his father chained him up in the cellar sometime in the 19th century and we know he first met Logan in Japan (probably prior to WWII). We know that Sabretooth worked for Romulus and recruited Cyber between those points, but little else is known of his life for what could be almost a century. What are the forces that turned an abused mutant teen into an unrepentant sociopathic killer?

You can read the preview here. I think this looks pretty damn good. Just from the preview it now looks like Sabretooth, in current Marvel continuity, is related to Wolverine in no way. He can't be John Howlett, and it's highly unlikely that he's Dog Logan.

Interesting that Creed had a brother - and killed him for a slice of pie. (Vic' must really like pie!)
I realize it's a nit-pick, but somehow the art seems a little "off" in terms of time period. Since Sabretooth is older than Wolverine he should have been born in the mid-19th century. I keep looking at those pages and it reminds me of the 1930's or 1940's but the only thing I can identify that makes me think that is the floor tile.

When Creed was young the house floor looked to be something from the 1930s to 1940s. Only two questions: 1. What year was the house? 2. What year was the title floor?
Plus, Logan vs. Creed the fighting that is old school.

The writer said the story is set 150 years ago.
