I went to church last night(Wednesday night) and a friend came running over and told me that a stolen copy of X-Men Origins: Wolverine came out on the net and his friend downloaded it and then gave the links to people at his work, but the links quickly stopped working and then the friend past around the saved file he had and they all watched it. he said it was missing alot of cg and some planes in the movie were gray blobs and you could see strings on actors doing stunts, but as far as the story it was complete, I told him i wasn't interested in seeing this stolen copy that didn't have the cg effects. then this morning all over the radio news they were talking about how it was watched by several 100,000 people that they know about. will this hurt the the movies money making? have any of you seen it, if so give us your take on it, but without spoilers. my Friend said it was AWESOME! and he isn't a wolverine fan and doesn't collect any comics. here are some news links: news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/7978379.stmnews.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090402/film_nm/us_wolverine_1

I'm curious to see where the fans/participants of this site weigh in on this matter... ...If I were one of the people who saw the wolverine movie early I would still want to go see it in the theater, thus paying the due fees to the Hollywood powers that be. With that said, has anyone else seen it?

Now that the rumor mill is in full tilt... ...some sites are reporting rumors that the film studios leaked the movie on purpose because early screenings received highly negative feedback. I usually don't buy into conspiracy theories but, this one is plausible. They are saying that they are trying to get feedback from the film being leaked and make last minute changes to please the fans and then if the film bombs completely they can blame it on piracy. link to story www.dailytech.com/XMen+Origins+Wolverine+Leaks+Some+Speculate+Leak+Was+Intentional/article14747.htm

I'm big fan of the Wolverine comic book series especially the early Weapon X comics they were absolutely amazing, probably the realest comic series I have ever read. So when i heard about the Origins movie being leaked I immediately wanted to see it in the knowledge that if it was good enough i would pay to see on the big screen. Well (sigh) I hate to be the bearer of bad news but once again Marvel managed to ruin yet another Marvel classic, they totally missed the point about what Weapon X was all about, the whole point of him being called Weapon X was because he was a perfect, mindless killing machine doing the governments dirty work, and he was the best at what he did, which is hunting down and killing in the most horrific graphic manner you could imagine . And so with all this at their disposal what do Marvel decide to do, they turn him into a PG friendly morally concerned hero who makes time for friends and family with all the warm fuzzyness that comes with that, aahhhhh now isn't that lovely.
When are Marvel going to realise that all we want is what we read in our favourate comics, the have enough PG friendly heroes without having to destroy the only anti hero we would all kill to be. The last great comic turned movie I saw was the Watchmen and that was because frame for frame it was exactly like the comic!! I hope they don't release that waste of time dribble. As a fan i was so disillusioned by what i saw that i didn't even bother to finish watching it. But saying all that if you never read the comics you would probably like this film. However if you are a life long fan and have collected the comics then prepare to be extremely painfully and very sorely disappointed. People there isn't a single drop of blood!!!! There was nothing wrong with the actors infact that was the best thing about the film, but the script was a pile of expletives, it was rushed and it seemed to have been written by someone who cares very little about we want to see, it totally ignored the reality of Wolverine as Weapon X and it just glossed over it with moral dribble when Weapon X is anything but... remember the first Incredible Hulk movie, its that far off the mark I'm afraid. Its a sad day for all of us Wolverine Fans to be honest i don't think Marvel even cares about what we think, they want to please new fans and make family movies so if you've been reading Marvel for fifteen years like me, then you're out of luck. DC must be laughing their a**es off at yet another Marvel blunder. And with that i bid you... adieu.
