Well it all started when i was a wee pub...j/k It happen at work delivering furniture, my temp partner almost dropped a very expensive chair and 1/2 off the back of our truck, into the street in front of the customers, but i caught it and saved the day. Problem is my thumb didn't come out of it so lucky. When i caught the chair and then heard a bunch of popping sounds (like 20 in all) and my hand felt like fire I knew it was bad. I check my had that had already stiffen up and started to bruise, but the best part was i had to finish delivering the peoples sofa, love, otto and reclining chair, plus the chair and half i had in my hands, not to mention 3 more delivers that Day and 13 the next day. ouch those days were not fun. It was like the scene from Spider man 2 i believe where spidy gives it all he gots to stop to train from derailing only it was my thumb instead of spidy and a chair instead of a train. oh and instead of being praised and carried. I was told not to hit any walls while delivering. Its been 4 days and my thumb although better is still bruised under the skin and very much sore. I just hope its fine delivering tomorrow. Here is a picture of what my thumb kinda looked like.

Did you file an injury report, and have you seen a doctor? Even if it doesn't seem like anything permanent now you want to make sure it heals correctly. And if it does become something permanent (arthritis maybe) it wouldn't hurt to have documentation saying it began as a work-related injury.

DAMN aint that some mess! Well I think megalictis is right, you do need to file a report of injury with the company and have this on record for any future claims you may need to file in the future. With out it on paper and going threw the proper channels you could find yourself on the very expensive short end of a medical stick should you require any type of surgery in the future. the typed of injury you have is an unknown . You have no way of knowing what happened inside your hand or what kind of results it could cause in the future. This could end up costing you a lot of money in medical bills. Not everything we feel tells us the whole story or the truth about what our bodies are going threw.
It's smarter to be over concerned than under concerned in a case like that.
Let me give you a harsher example here. My husband works in remodeling and pluming and construction. He lifted a very heavy piece of furnisher once and felt a internal pop. Well $52,000.00 dollars later and a near death on the operating table, he found that he had twisted his intestine! they had to remove the whole thing and untwist it and stitch him up again. This we were told is a common thing that happens to people who do heavy lifting or construction work.
Point is. better safe than sorry and that's the bottom line. Bro, unless your Superman with X-Ray vision, best to get an X-Ray... LOLOL
