Ok, so I thought Way was bringing Romulus (spelling?) into the story, so what happened with that story line? I don't get it, the last thing I read at marvel, that #23 is going on about deadpool, and it's 3 of 5...so then what?

I honestly don't think you'll see Romulus until at least issue #50 of that series.

Yeah, I think we'll see more of Romulus toward the end of Way's 60-issue mega-arc, once Logan has elininated enough of his minions to get close. But after the Capt. America retrospective arc (which I enjoyed despite the fact that Logan gets no closer to Romulus or Daken) the Deadpool arc seems like another diversion from the main focus of the first quarter of the story.
Filler? Editorial mandate? Or did Way plan this from the beginning? If so, Way has 40 more issues to show how it all connects. But in the meantime it seems like he's just spinning his wheels.
Deadpool appeared at the end of W:O #20 to accept a $20,000,000 contract to kill Wolverine from an unseen figure in a suit (not Romulus, but probably possibly one of his lesser flunkies). Now I've been a Deadpool fan from his inception - he's one of the funniest characters Marvel has ever given an ongoing series (so is Howard the Duck). But it makes me wonder about is the tone of this next arc - is Way going for laughs after 20 issues of trying to show us exactly why what Wolverine is best at isn't very nice? It seems on the surface like a diversion from Logan's quest.
Deadpool got his healing factor from the Weapon X Project (possibly through gene splicing) based on Wolverine's own healing factor, which is his first connection to Wolverine. While this makes Deadpool pretty much as un-kill-able as Wolverine, even to the point of re-growing lost limbs and re-attaching his severed head, it left him permamnetly scarred all over. Logan considers him an annoying pain-in-the-butt in most of their encounters. Wolverine is the better fighter but their healing factors have pretty much made every contest between them a stalemate. While the Muramasa blade would be a definitive avantage, Way won't be able to employ a plot device that would leave a borrowed character permamnetly damaged. So in terms of plot-progression I'm not sure what can come of this.
Nor is it clear why Romulus would send Deadpool after Wolverine. A test? A distraction just to slow him down? It's clear now that Romulus was the mystery-man behind Weapon X (once it broke from Weapon Plus) when Wolverine was recruited, but was he still pulling the strings when Deadpool and his "batch" were recruited?

Yer' welcome. I try.
Found a clue in the solicitation for W:O #22
So maybe there is something in this for Wolverine... (Something for me, too - Bianchi's doing the cover art!)

Simone Bianchi drew Wolverine (vol 3)# 50-55 (where Wolverine kills Sabretooth).

well to me Bianchi didn't write reeaally good stuff... I thought Sabretooth could fight a littlebit, now he just let Wolvie kill himself? That was so not like Sabbe...
