When I look at that image I see Wolverine getting suckered in close (distrascted by his feelings) by that sociopath son of his - look how the left Muramasa claw looks like he's lined up to use it as a Q-tip and scramble daddy's brains! Ignoring the pose (and Logan's apparent obliviousness to the tactical vulnerability of the position he's in) it appears that Wolverine is publicly unmasking "Dark Wolverine" to expose Osborne's Avengers, meaning "Dark Reign" is nearing the end.
It's funny, but when Way first introduced Daken I disliked everything about him. I thought he was a throw-away character designed to casue more emotional pain for Wolverine on his way to defeating his ultimate enemy - Romulus. Now that Wolverine has fought both I think maybe I had it wrong. Romulus is still Logan's past and defeating him will mean Logan's finally broken the "curse" on his life, but Daken isn't a throw away - he's the replacement for both Romulus and Sabretooth - the most credible threat to Wolverine going forward.

yeah I figured that a while back when they killed off Sabertooth. Of course Daken is going to be his greatest problem, that's hi sson and deep down Logan wants his son back. The way Logan is, he'd rather die than have to kill Daken himself. to have to behead his own son will be the hardest thing in his life, BUT He would fight and fight to find a way NOT to have to do that so Logan even after killing Romulus will STILL have a curse, Daken won't give in. Romulas will live on threw daken just as he told Logan he would. He wants to live for ever and that's why he pitted Daken against Logan in the first place. Daken as more powwer than anyone of Logan's enemies ever did because he is the son Logan NEVER wanted to loose, the sone he never had a chance to be with, the son that non of what happen to him was his fault. it will be harder than hell for Logan to win this battle.

if this picture does play out in the comics, does this mean Wolverine is the better of the two? To be able to pin his son down and tear off his mask, while the son obviously doesn't want that to happen, would be hard, but it shows Wolverine accomplished it. Wolverine almost could touch his son before. Daken used to be a much harder opponent, has Wolverine learned Daken's tactics?

More than likely Wolverine would learn Daken's tactics, as many people and things he has faught over the years it comes to no surprize to me that he would learn how to kick daken's a s s sooner or later. Weither he's really want to do that is the real question. I think even if Logan di find all these ways out, he may never use them unless Daken plans on acting like Romulus and killing everyone Logan loves or ever will love, then he'd have no choise but to put him down or give to him enough to make him wish he'd put him down. something along those lines I'm guessing

I doudt it from that art, the look on his face and the fact he has blood from his mouth, the pose, all point to prevention. He wasn't counting on beiing de-masked so to speak. Besides, he isn't the only manipulator Logan has ever delt with, so it is possible Logan found a way to deal with that too or he is stumbling onto it or he just is that damn good!

On some level, yes. He doesn't want to be his father, he wants to be better. It wrankles him that he's in his father's shadow. In Dark Wolverine he's playing along with Osborne chalking up assets for later use. For example, he's got the Fantastic Four willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. He flushed-out the Muramasa blade and got a piece of it. He's testing his power - learned he can manipulate a god (Ares). And he's studying his father by playing "Wolverine." Based on the cover image Daken is done with the masquerade, whether or not he was ready.
Osborne's "Wolverine" will be revealed to the world as "an impostor," but the real question is what will be revealed, and to whom? Does this mean the world will know Daken's name? Or that he's Logan's son? After living all his life in the shadows is Daken ready for that?
And as far as being a master manipulator, part of that is Daken's mutant pheromones, something he apparently shares with Romulus who taught him how to use it. Is that capability unique to them, or just the skill? Did Sabretooth have it too? (It would fit). What if it's a characteristic of all "Lupus Sapiens?" Logan might have the potential to use it too, or to develop an immunity to it like a drug.

hasn't Logan used the pheromones in the past, maybe not realizing it, but i seem to remember Beast explaining that Wolverine and himself are well like by the ladies by using pheromones. anyone recall this?
if so Wolverine could learn to control his use of them as Daken and Romulas have.
