Jeff Loeb is probably the most over-rated writers in the industry, IMO. I hear his name alot and I don't think he has anything good to show for it. His Wolverine event was poor at best. His Hulk stuff is just lame. Loeb says he "for reasons I'm not entirely clear. we introduced, well i know why, but we introduced Red Hulk and its taken off, I'm proud of the character and my work on the book. we started talking about Red hulk being the next Wolverine" LOLA quick check on google i found this video. www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pUYm_rT3ysafter listening to the video and reading comments. I realize that hes screwing DC fans too. Now in Ultimate U, which i care nothing about, he kills off main people and then brings a new a new character with the same features as the dead one. LOL what a joke. The Ultimate Universe? WalMart Marvel? They're still printing that stuff? And people are still buying it?Damn. I figured that had run it's course by now. And Loed - - how could Marvel think his idea - to make Wolverine (and Sabertooth, Wild Child, Wolvesbane, Feral, Thornn, and Sasquatch ) descendants of wolves - was good enough to print? Did they really think THAT story justified screwing with so much of Wolverine's canon past? And THAT was the best they could do for the final battle between Wolverine and Sabertooth?!? I bet Daniel Way wasn't too thrilled that Marvel let Loeb handle the introduction of Romulus - his main antagonist - when his Wolverine: Origins Annual was the set-up for Way to gradually do the same! This is probabl one of the main reasons why Origins is only going to run about 50 issues instead of the origianlly-intended 60. X-Axis said it best: www.thexaxis.com/wolverine/wolverine55.htm

Clearly Loeb sees making Wolverine taller, blond, and a TEEN-AGER as an improvement. "Weapon 90210?" Because, after all, the short, hairy, old Wolverine has never been very successful... Anybody remember "New Coke?"
