How did Wolverine/Logan get a body like that?
And what does it take?

The short answer is "intensive regular exersive" (from the OHTMU). I honestly don't remember any canon reference to a specific exersize regimen.
Here's my best non-canon explanation. Basically it amounts to the combination of a healing factor and a skeleton that can't be damged no matter how much strain you put on it. I'm sure he finds a moment for some running or lifting now and then but mostly it's constant combat that keeps him in shape. And it doesn't hurt that he's lugging around 100 pounds of metal everywhere he goes.
So let's say Famine zaps Wolverine and he looks like a death camp survivor and for some reason his healing factor doesn't just automatically fix him. Assuming the healing factor still works, Logan locks himself in the gym with a few cases of high-calorie protein shakes and 100 litres of water and starts pumping iron (starting with that can of protein shake). Since muscles get bigger by first getting damaged, Wolverine has to put enough strain on those puny muscles to tear the muscle fibres. Then the body says "that ain't working, we gotta' replace that with something bigger and stronger" so it grows a bigger, stronger muscle cell to replace the old one. In us it takes a couple days. In Logan it's a couple minutes. Wolverine works out in a continuous marathon for a couple days, taking breaks only long enough for water or a protein shake. After two days he hits the wall - the maximum muscle mass his genome will allow him to have. Then he goes upstairs and eats the kitchen (and everything edible between him and the kitchen), then goes to bed for about a day. After that he's as good as new.
The most unrealistic thing about Wolverine's healing factor is "mass." To repair damaged tissue Logan's body has to build new tissue. But out of what? Muscle is made of protein. To rebuild a lost muscle Logan would first digest all the protein in his digestive system then begin autophagia - digesting his own body to get the building material he needs to heal. Healing would cost Logan muscle mass and strength in a prolonged fight, and between fights he'd eat like a whole football team.

maybe Wolverine mutant healing factor is different then yours alsoby how it uses protein in a more efficient way. so he wouldn't need tons of it, just a percent of what a normal human would need.
How much faster does wolverine heal over a regular human, maybe thats also the same measurement we could use to figure out his body is able to better use protein.
its liek 2am am i making sense, i think what im saying would explain several instances in the comics too.

Even if Wolverine breaks down 100% of all protein he consumes (the human body requires 20 different protens) he must still consume an amount of protein at least equal to the mass of the tissue he regenerates or his body would have to resort to autophagia. This is in addition to carbohydrartes for energy and all the vitamins and minerals his body needs.
Unfortunately Wolverine's healing factor has never worked at a consistent rate. On on end it took several days for Logan to recover from wounds recieved in the Kitty Pryde and Wolverine mini-series. On the other end of the spectrum we have him regrowing after being flash-burned to the skeleton in minutes during Guggenheim's run on Wolverine. So it's impossible to accurately gague exactly how much faster he heals than a normal man.

here what I heard and know, OK a short person as short as Logan when they work out the muscles go wider rather than taller like Scott Summers so Logan has that over buff fireplug look. that's real life stuff. Now I have also noted that Logan is way More "cut" than most of the others, and his waist is smaller too. This is because his healing factor doesn't tolerate being overly fat for 2 reasons. In order for him to heal at the rate he does he also has to use ALOT of fuel. You'll find this in nature as well, after he heal he will get VERY hungry yet he doesn't get fat when he eats most people in the ground( sept maybe Blob.) This is his body requirement to rebuild at a fast pace. Marvel has said this briefly before.
This is also the reason why he is more cut than the others who even tho they work out still have body fat to deal with. Logan's burns up more often than not. Also he was designed after Clint Eastwood AND a real Wolverine or at least the eliminates of. Now Wolverines are KNOWN to be ALL MUSCLE 75 pounds of it and they can bring down an Elk by themselves by the way. BUT THEY are ALSO known to be a glutton! Most every thing about Logan can be found in a real Wolverine. Things like they can smell 6 feet under the Snow, they go in areas no one else would dare, they like to be alone and NEVER give up, hell they can even climb trees. AND These animal EAT a lot. SO it only makes sense that Logan would be like them as well. Marvel has written this into who Logan is , it is his body's make up based on nature. Short answer... Logan was BORN that way, for the most part.
I assume some of you already said this or some of it lol but what the hey.
