Melita's mother

here's a fun questoion. I was thinking, what will happen when Melita takes Wolverine home to meet the folks? What do you think her mother's reaction will be (let's save dad for a different question)

Let's keep race out of it and just base this one first impressions. as we know Marvel discribes Wolverine as looking a little different than the ave. man besides the fact he is short and hairy a lot of people are, it has more to do with his eyes,they are said to have a preditor look in them, wolf like. Wild side, more that just human. Most people don't really make an issiue out of it. But let's say Mama notice that he looks different.

what do you think her first thoughts might be?

personally i think she would wait to see before she took any thoughts she may have to heart.

Yeah, it's always so much fun to meet the parents - especially when you're old enough to be their grandfather!

We know next to nothing about Melita's parents. Mom's black. Dad's Mexican (but "Garner" doesn't sound like a Mexican name). And they don't care who she dates as long as he's a Democrat. Other than that they raised a strong, indepenent daughter and they're both apparently still alive (and possibly still together). I guess if Melita's mom figures "Canadian" is closer to "Democrat" than "Republican" he meets her only known criterium for acceptability. Other than that it'll kind'a depend on what sort of first impression he makes. If he's on his best behavior it may go well. If a superhero battle breaks out during dinner - maybe not so much.

Honestly I don't care how she reacts as long as it doesn't go like this:

Melita: "Mom, this is - - "
Mrs. Garner: "Logan!... oh... my... God! It's been over thirty years but you still look just the same as when we - - um, oh-oh..."
Melita: "MOM?!?"
Logan: "... Monica?"
Melita: "LOGAN!!!"
Mrs. Garner: "Melita, honey, I think you better sit down. Me and your fa- uh, Logan have something I think we better tell you..."
