September 2010 was Wolverine's month in the comic book Direct Market, according to preliminary sales figures (sans sales indexes) released by Diamond Comics Distributors Thursday morning.
Marvel's ubiquitous mutant pulled off the rare double feat of starring in the top-selling comic book and trade paperback of the month, helping Marvel Comics maintain their now standard positions atop the September publisher Market Share categories.
Mark Millar's Wolverine: Old Man Logan collection was the top selling trade/graphic novel of the month.
Market Share wise, Marvel Comics sold 44.20% of all publications sold to retailers in September, and 39.33% of every dollar spent by retailers was for a Marvel title.
DC accounted for 29.85% in Unit Share and 25.56% in Dollar Share.
Marvel kicking butt as always
