Written by Kathryn Immonen Art by PHIL NOTO Cover by NIMIT MALAVIA Variant Cover by NIMIT MALAVIA Jubilee is about as far away from the ideal X-Man as it isÊpossible for a 17-year-old minty fresh vampire to be.ÊWhile the X-Men try to find a way to give her as normal a life as is inhumanly feasible, her decidedly abnormal vampire cravings will not be denied.Ê Between that and her newfound powers, she's winning the fights but not the popularity contests among most of the other X-Kids. Most...but not all.Ê And just when Jubilee starts to think that there is no place for her anywhere, a group of vampire women make her an offer she can't refuse. It seems like the perfect solution...unless Wolverine has anything to say about it! 32 pages, $2.99.

Wolverine and Jubes together again awesome. Jubes fighting her vampire inside....i guess. I seem to remember that you can save a vampire bite victum by killing the head vampire. Is that not true anymore?, cause dracula's son head got ripped off.
since Jubes is going to be a good vampire will she get a sparkly diamond chest...LOL
Jubes is also not a womanly as she was in the X-Men book, it looks like she is back to the old Jubes which is fine. As for the book I'm ALL IN.

I'm not sure what the rules are regarding vampires in the Marvel Universe, or even if the subject has been handled consistently since the days of Tomb of Dracula (I think that's what they called the title back in the '70's), but apparently Jubilee's case disproves this. Despite having waited two decades for a mini-series called "Wolverine and Jubilee" (I would have done it back in 1990 if I'd had any say in the matter) I've been concerned about how the solicits have described the story so far, and I have a very unfavourable response to the idea of Jubilee being forever transformed into a blood-addicted predator. And Jubilee should not be 17! She was 16 back in Generation X #68, so she should be at least 19 by now! But now that I've seen the previews I feel hopeful for this title. Immonen seems to be writing Jubilee more "like herself" than many of her recent predecessors (I thought Liu and Cebulski also wrote her very well). And she raises an intriguing point about Jubilee getting transfusions from Logan keeping her somewhat in control of herself - what happens if she feeds off him regularly - better him than somebody with no healing factor, and who else would let her? I'm even impressed that the title page got the details of Jubilee's power right (detonating matter at the sub-atomic level, rather than molecular level - it's a moot point now, but I'm particilar about that). It looks like Noto draws all the characters in more realistic human proportions (as opposed to the "heroic proportions" of nine-heads-tall). I like the look and I give him credit for going agains the Marvel tradition (as described in that old classic "Hoe to Draw Comics the Marvel Way). At least no one will call her "Boobilee" (remember how she looked in New Warriors)?
