I don't know if its just in California, but alot of the GMC's and Chevy's have one light that does not work in the front of the car, its not the headlight, its either a parking light or a fog light, but I would have to say a good 33% of them a like that. Has anyone else noticed this anywhere?

Daytime running light, uses a 3157 or 2157 bulb. Socket / gasket is a poor design. I own an 03 Silverado and one of the first things I did was to put some extra lube on the gasket to keep the rain and water out. No ventilation inside the lense assembly, and when a little water gets in .. poof, the bulb fries.

I can understand a poor design, but this is a problem for all GMCs and CHEVEY trucks/SUVs years 1989-2007 you think they would have came up with a fix, especially since they changed the design i think twice for the lense, but thats the car companys for ya, they wont fix unless people complain and since no one is going to die from it

Yes, design changes make no difference when the same flaw in thinking does not change. Poor gasket design to block the water/vapor entry, and no drainage hole in the very bottom. Upgraded gaskets would add $1 per vehicle, and the machining of a drain hole in the bottom of the light bucket would mean another few bucks for the bucket producer to buy another robot and cad software.
